Oct. 30, 2006

Honolulu, HI- In the 2006 Pac West Championships, Lisa Castle put in a great effort, finishing fourth amongst thirty-four runners with a time of 25:45; this is the tail end of what has been a banner year for the Chaminade senior.

Castle started off the year amongst the top ten female runners in the Pac West conference with a 10th place finish in the Chaminade Invitational and has made a steady climb to be considered amongst the best in the conference.

The senior from San Antonio, Texas has improved throughout the year and has finished no lower than fourth in any race in the month of October, highlighted by a second place finish at the HPU Invitational and a fourth place run at the Pac West Championships, recently held at UH-Hilo. Castle has managed to save her best for championship level running; posting a 19:44 5K in the super competitive Willamette Invitational and running a season best 25:45 6K in the Pac West Championships.

Castle and the Swords are back in action at the NCAA West Regionals, hosted by Chico State University on Saturday, November 4th. The CUH men will run 10k; while the women will run a 6k at times to be determined.
