Kaneohe, HI- Freshman Garrett Prinslow again led the way for the Swords in the 2008 UH Big Wave Invitational. Prinslow finished the 5K event with a time of 16:44. The time was good enough for 27th overall and 11th best amongst Pac West competitors. Senior Tyler Pickle finished in 38th , 18th amongst the Pac West competitors with a time of 17:21. Overall, the Silversword Men finished in 7th place in the team standings. Winning the race for UCLA was Laef Barnes with a time of 15:12. UCLA also won the team title claiming the top nine spots on the men's side.
On the women's side, CUH was led by Rachel Martin (57th) with a time of 18:58 in the women's 4K. The Chaminade women finished in 6th place. Katja Goldring of UCLA won the event with a time of 14:37, while UCLA won the event on the women's side.
The Swords are back in action next Saturday at the BYU-Hawaii Invitational in Laie, HI (grass course). Race time is set for 8:00 AM HT.
