Honolulu, HI – The Lady Swords took on the Urban Knights of Academy of Art University and fell by a score of 77 to 67. CUH led going into the break by 6 points; the score was 38 to 36.
Three of the Lady Swords were in double digits; Samantha Saito has 18 points, Brittany Bridges added 12 points and Kayci Will added 10 points of her own. The shooting percentages were nearly identical; the Lady Swords shot 42% from the floor, while AAU shot 40%. However, the margin from beyond the arch proved to be the difference as the Urban Knights shot nearly 60% to CUH’s 33%.
Sondra Stillwell added 21 points and was a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line. She also had 5 steals, 3 assists and 2 boards for the Urban Knights.
The Swords are back in action against PacWest Conference opponent, Dominican University on February 8th, 2010 at McCabe Gym. Tip off is set for 5:30PM HST.
With the loss CUH falls to 1-13 overall, while AAU improves their record to 7-13 overall.
