Lady Swords Conclude Road Trip with a Loss to UH-Hilo, 2Games to 0

Hilo, HI – The Lady Swords took on the Vulcans of UH0 Hilo yesterday afternoon and fell in both of the games, 8 to 0 and 5 runs to 2.  

Game # 1

Chaminade lost the first game by way of the mercy rule, 8 runs to 0. The Vulcans erupted in the bottom of the third inning with 6 runs, they scored the final two runs of the inning in the bottom of the 6th inning. They hit the ball very well, they had 11 hits, hile Chaminade managed just 3 hits all game,

Kelly Korras started the game on the mound for CUH, she and the rest of her team were unable to find an answer against the Vuclans of Hawaii Hilo.

Kelly Korras pitched 5.2 innings; she gave up 11 hits and all 8 earned runs.

Kelly Korras is charged with the loss, she falls to 5-13 on the year.

Game # 2:

Chaminade battled in this game and fell by a score of 5 runs to 2.

Chelsi Walls was the starting pitcher, she pitched all 6 innings. She faced 28 batters, gave up 9 hits and 4 of the 5 runs scored were earned.  

She falls to 3-7 on the year.

Shalin “Anuhea” Yamaguchi, Keli-Grace (KG) Kaowili- Sanatian, Skye Virtudes, Brandi Sasaki and Melissa Harris all contributed with singles. The top of the 4th was the best inning for Chaminade, as they scored 2runs on 3 of their 5 hits in the game.

The Lady Swords are back in action on April 10th, 2010 when they square off against cross town rival, Hawaii Pacific University. The time and place of the game is yet to be determined, continue to check goswords.com for any updates. With the conclusion of the long road trip, CUH’s record is now 14-28 overall and 10-14 in the Pacific West Conference.
