Honolulu, HI- Chaminade took on the Crusaders of Northwest Nazarene this afternoon at St. Louis Field in the season opener and fell by a score of 4-0.
The Crusaders got the scoring going in the 9th minute with a goal from Alex Mangeac. John Stump added his first of two goals in the 23rd minute for a 2-0 Northwest Nazarene halftime lead.
Two second half Crusader goals in the second half put NNU out in front for good at 4-0.
Daniel Dartt (Leilehua, HI/Leilehua) stopped seven shots for the Swords in the opening half. The Swords were out-shot 26-2.
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 0-1. Northwest Nazarene improves to 1-0. Chaminade is set to play Cal State East Bay on September 6th on St. Louis Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM HT.
