HONOLULU, HI- The 2012 CUH Softball team is set to start another exciting season on the diamond. Chaminade, led by Head Coach
Kent Yamaguchi, features another competitive schedule, complete with trips to Arizona, California, Utah and the Big Island. The Swords open their season with nine of eleven matchups at home (Central Oahu Regional Park). The first contest of the year against Pacific Lutheran at Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP) is set for 4:30 PM local time on February 3rd. The matchup will be a doubleheader. The Swords PacWest Conference home opener is Sunday, March 4
th against Dominican at CORP.
Coach Yamaguchi is excited for the year to begin, and was happy to comment on this year's team: “We have a great group of players. I think we are going to be better offensively. We have very good team speed and I'm impressed with our hitting.”
The Swords leading returning hitter is senior catcher Anuhea Yamaguchi (Ewa Beach, HI/Campbell High). Yamaguchi had 19 hits and 9 doubles last year. Her 9 doubles led the Swords in 2011.
